| The Baths of Aphrodite Everyone talks about it – you have to go and see. Wherever you are staying, in Cyprus it is a shortest drive. Aphrodite the legendry Goddess of Love used to take her bath in the cool small pond here near Polis/Akamas. The area is strewn with romantic spots, mythological wealth and naturally beautiful landscapes. The area of the Baths provides a magnificent view of the Bay of Polis. According to legend Aphrodite used to bathe in the small pond surrounded by idyllic landscape and beautiful sweet smelling flowers. Adonis passed by, while hunting in the forest, and stopped for a drink when he was struck by the sight of the beautiful naked Goddess Aphrodite bathing in the clear waters. They loved each other instantly and lived together until Adonis met his unfortunate tragic death. There is a restaurant in the area, swimming and toilet facilities. There are organised walks in the area as there is so much to see. |
